Favorite sport themed / inspired movies

I have seen two of my favorites this week, so here is a list of the ones I think are good.

1) The Natural (best baseball movie ever)
2) Rocky III (my favorite out of the franchise)
3) American Flyers ( no matter how many times I see it, I still like seeing the brother train and race in "The Hell of the West")
4) For the love of the game
5) Dodgeball : a true underdog story (even have a cameo by an admitted cheater of a cyclist)
6) Fever Pitch (yes a romantic comedy, but I still like it, Jimmy Fallon played the neurotic Red Sox fan well)
7) Field of dreams (because if you build it they will come)
8) Rocky
9) Rocky II
10) Brewsters Millions (Richard Pryor as a minor league pitcher who has to blow $30 million to inherit $300 million)

That's my top 10 list.

1) Field of Dreams - And I'm not a fan of baseball
2) Breaking Away - Do I have to explain this on Bikeforums? I hope not!
3) Touching the Void - a very well done documentary about a mountain climbing accident in Peru in the late 1980s. I used to be into this stuff . . . big time.
4) Without Limits - About legendary runner Steve Prefontaine. The better of the two 'Pre' movies that came out that year.

Editing this based on Wordbiker's post down lower. And these are not in any particular order.

What about "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings" which has Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, Richard Pryor.

I'll second Breaking Away...but not as a #2 choice. It's #1 all the way.

I'll also nominate all the Collective MTB videos (The Collective, Roam, Seasons) as well as one outside of my realm: Step Into Liquid, a surf movie directed by Dana Brown, son of legendary filmmaker Bruce Brown. Add to that the On Any Sunday films for the motorcycle realm, and Aspen Extreme for pure cheese yet great entertainment in the ski realm. OK, I'll even give a nod to Prefontaine and Chariots of Fire...though mainly because I'm a Vangelis fan.

I'll toss in Cool Runnings, because John Candy,

but, as a child of the 80's, I can't believe I left out The Sandlot. Probably #1 for me right there.

PB was the first one that came to mind. But The Big Lebowski trumps everything.

You see Simon, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules.

as much as THe Big Lebowski is my dude mecca, I wouldn't consider it sporting themed or inspired. ok, so they bowl in it, but that's not the point/plot of the movie.
