She wanted to perk us up and a pair of Rolex's certainly do that trick nicely!

    Holy chit... mums got bucks.

So now the next issue... do you really wear a watch?

I have a couple, but never wear them unless I am racing. (these are cheap digitals, nothing like your bling)

    Nice!

At a certain age it's nice to know you're not an orphan yet and somebody still really cares for you. Nobody cares for you like Mom.

Would your Mom adopt a stray Canadian if he showed up on her doorstep? Nice watches, you are one lucky son. Have you told her you love her lately?

    Very nice!

I wear a watch every day. I'm pretty hard on them so I'd be a little afraid to wear something that nice.

    Nice watches

I think mine is broken. All it does it count down to zero.

Rolex is issued by the military for officers in various navies and air services due to their extreme toughness and accuracy. They're certified as a navigational chronometer, for example. My other Rolex, a Submariner, loses about 15 seconds a year and is mechanical, like the new Oyster Yachtmaster, a self winder perpetual movement. Then again, the Submariner costs about $9K and the Oysters between about $12K (mine)-15k (The wife's because of46 diamonds in the face.), each.

Nice. Didn't there used to be a watch thread here? My pop has a nice little collection, one of 'em is an oyster perpetual, stainless and gold though, so not as fancy, mister platinum stormcrowe.

Sweet! Just don't let anyone get their eyes that close to it. I've got an armitron mechanical watch that gets mistaken for an fairly expensive citizen. But when asked what it is I just tell them the truth. I don't wear it much, usually just to work.

Wow, I can think of worse things to get as a present. Good job she didn't cheap out and get your wife the Lady Oyster Perpetual with only 45 diamonds, for example

Whaaaa! Dude! I love your mom and I don't even know her! (please let her know I love her...and that I prefer vintage Tissot)

I wear a watch ever day, some times for keeping an eye on the time, some times for looks, and some times for no particular reason at all.

I had a former member here, whose name was a piece of furniture that two or three people could sit on try to do this for me. It was lost in the mail. I hope the post man enjoys my watch.
