Waiting for one of them to pick exactly the wrong person to try to knock out. I don't even need to see video, as long as an accurate account is in the news.

In one case they already did. Tapped a guy with a concealed carry permit.

I don't think that's going to slow the fad down much. It's mostly popular among those who are invulnerable(young). I wish I knew the answer. It's one of the worst memes to surface.

It's going to do wonders for concealed carry classes though. This is exactly the kind of thing to motivate people to attend one.

I wish they'd stop calling assault a 'game'.

That is what the thugs themselves call it, hence the " ".

The only way to defend against this is to be alert, draw your weapon, and attack swiftly.

I call it strongarm robbery. Work on your situational awareness, especially in low traffic areas. Try to maintain distance between yourself and anyone who looks like a perp. Even 3-4 feet will give you an instant to react. Watch out for young males in packs.

rebel1916 11-24-13 12:09 AM

Oh, and don't brandish your pistol at anyone who looks like a skel fer chrissakes. Don't catch a charge thinking your right, only to be wrong!

That's the point, when they do it, they don't rob people. It's all about the thrill of the assault.

There have been plenty of rifled pockets post KO.

Years ago, there was a similar variant of this. It was called "Wilding", where gangs of mis-understood youths, with feelings of misplaced anger (how am I doing here? have I got it right?) would viciously assault multiple victims in a short amount of time. Their reasons? The usual: the thrill, feeling like tough guys, building up their "reps", etc.

some background information.

So, old "fad" (sorry, I guess "meme" is the word dujour for it. And who thinks this stuff up?) with a new name.

World Net Daily has been reporting wildly exaggerated accounts of black on white violence since the conclusion of the Zimmerman trial. This "knock out" game is nothing but more made up race baiting nonsense. There is no evidence at all that it exists. No text messages urging people to participate, no web sites advocating it, absolutely nothing. Random violence happens, sadly, pretty randomly. It doesn't need a "game" to justify it and it doesn't need fear mongers to make it worse.
