hike the A.T. and then ride a bike from coast to coast....perhaps stopping in Tx and a few other places along the way to meet some really odd people.

Yes, there is. And apparently we can see it once in a while here in Tasmania ... but I've yet to catch a glimpse if it.

I lived in northern Alberta for many years, and the aurora borealis is beautiful. :)

Ive been sitting here for like 25 minutes trying to figure out an answer to this question!? I just realized that there is nothing I want to do before I die!? Weird! I mean theres plenty I want to do but nothing that would make me want to come back and haunt some poor family because my spirit feels like it has to come back to "finish" something! LOL!

So I thought we could do the same thing on Foo.

Before I die I want to bicycle across the United States.

That, and see this painting in person. When I was thirteen I picked three pieces of art I wanted to see before I died; the Mona Lisa, Guernica, and this one.

Sorry, but I'm not going to be a co-conspirator in your evil agenda. ;)

The only ones that come to mind are ride the PAris-Roubiax route, and ride across the USA (I've already driven across in a car). Knocked off one small item this past fall - build my own bicycle from a bare frame. I even installed the headset myself. Already done a whole bunch of others in the last 30+ years.

Organize a London to Paris ride, via Dover.

That's London, AR to Paris, AR via Dover, AR.

It's just a hair over 100 miles.

Have you seen the other two? I knew the Mona Lisa was small but it was still a bit surprising to see the actual size in person.

Do another sub 6 hour sanctioned century at 63 years old after 11 years off the bike and 23 years since doing one under 6 hours.

Did one last summer after coming back but missed my goal by about 15 minutes. It's tougher to find the riding time to prepare working 2nd shift.

It was small, dark, and under bullet proof glass. I saw the Mona Lisa in 1981 during a twenty-four hour pass while on Reforger. I saw Guernica in the late '70's when it was at the Met in New York.

Before I die, I want to think of something to enter in the "Before I die, I want to _______" thread.

MangoPumpkin 12-09-13 08:04 AM

I want to visit various filming locations of some of my favorite movies. I've been to the Christmas Story House (Christmas Story) - Regent Beverly Wilshire (Pretty Woman) - Back Lot at both Universals (Various Movies).

I next want to visit Ohio Reformatory Prison where they filmed Shawshank Redemption.

StupidlyBrave 12-09-13 08:41 AM

I want to go to Semproniano, Italy. I just found out that some friends have a house there for rent.

Well, if there hasn't been a male on your father's side of the family see 50 years old in generations so you decide you'd better do something when you reach 40 and start riding a bike, growing old to me will be quite an accomplishment.

OK then, you want it to be fun, then before I die I want to get my private pilot's license. There's no chance of that happening for me so I am downgrading it to I want to get an ultralight aircraft for some leisure soaring around in the skies. I already fly RC, plan in the near future to fly by FPV (First Person View) through a camera and a set of goggles which will be close to first hand flying. After that, the next step in a few years after the kids are all grown up will be ultralight flight.

Before I die... I don't worry about it.. I just live my life and hope everything is sorted out later... no regrets for not having done something; it's best that way...

Play scrumhalf in a Rugby match in South Africa.

Background. I've played in the U.S., England, Wales, New Zealand and Australia. There are 15 positions in Rugby. Most play 2 or 3. I've played 14 (Guess which one I have not played).

Oh and right now in the international Rankings:

1 New Zealand
2 South Africa
3 Australia
4 England
5 France
6 Wales
