If memory serves me correctly, "Billy Jack Goes to Washington" never made to theaters, but found its cult following on home video.

For you younger dudes and dudettes, Billy Jack earned its spot on Bad Movies.org.
The review is pretty spot on. Good, early 70s, Grindhouse entertainment.

This is a great site for fans of, well, bad movies.

Before Chuck Norris there was Billy Jack.

I don't think I ever knew (or maybe didn't remember) that Tom Laughlin was part Native American. I believe I only saw his first two movies if memory serves (which it might not). My favorite Native American back in the day (part) was former Featherweight champion Danny "Little Red" Lopez. He was half Ute and actually grew up on the reservation on the Utah California border.....A very popular fighter on the west coast at first and then one of the better remembered television fighters in the '70s.

RIP Billy Jack, you made a few interesting films that amused the heck out of an apartment full of university women students one drunken night after final exams.

In a time when Native Americans in movies rode around in circles until they were all shot, Billy Jack gave us an alternative view. I think it made an impact.
    What is bicycle touring?

His movies were pretty bad (or awesomely bad in some people's opinions), and his political campaigns were pretty ill-conceived. But by all indications, his heart was in the right place, so I for one am reluctant to dismiss him out of hand like that. He was very much a part of his time and place and took the side of the weak against the strong. And there is not a damn thing you can do about it!

I used this line in HS to talk my way out of a fight with a bully. The bluff actually worked.
