Someone hit the Bullseye

If you shopped at Target in the last 20 days and used your cc at checkout, you might wanna keep an eye on future transactions.

I was in Target a couple of weeks ago. So I was worried when I first heard the news.

I had to reconstruct what I might have bought. As the fog cleared, remembered that I had gone in looking for an Xbox 360 controller. I didn't like the price, so I only got spaghetti, and paid cash for that. Whew!

I got a call yesterday from my Credit Union informing me that my card was one of the ones that was "compromised" and that they were canceling the card and reissuing me a new one, which I will receive in 2-3 weeks.

Karma comes back around and bites them in the rear. They pissed me off so much a few years ago that I've never been back into one of their stores. They used to pitch their store credit card to everyone in a check-out line, and it took 5-10 minutes to sign up anyone who decided to get one. I got so pissed off standing in line that I dropped my (potential) purchases on the nearest counter and walked out, and haven't been back.

every company should do this. it's a) smart, and b) great customer service. some people may not even know they might be affected so they'll never know what's going on until it's too late.

they still do.
I still shop there occasionally - they sell the Champion C9 stuff that is fantastic for biking - but I'm still annoyed they don't allow Salvation Army bell ringers outside their stores.

One of my cards was compromised a few years ago when I was out of town on vacation. I was impressed by how well they took care of the problem.

You have to remember the big banks don't like to do anything that might affect their shareholder's bottom line, as a credit union member you are the shareholder.
