Alright folks, time to tally your Amazon / Nashbar / Other order totals for 2013

I only bought 1 or 2 things from Nashbar so I won't bother looking.

But Amazon Prime is addicting. For 2013 we had 72 orders for a total of $3,106.17.

How about you?

OMG, lol

Well I logged onto Ebay for the very 1st time, set up a Pay-Me-Later account and got $500 advance credit. I was quick to go through that before they could find out how bad my credit really is so now I'll have to pay that off when I get my income tax return. I've probably bought an additional $200 more on Ebay besides that.

Got some vintage stuff for a winter build with that but I'll be spending much more this year when I get a bonus check in march.

Amazon & Nashbar? Well since I came back from a decade layoff I bought some clothes to replace what didn't quite fit me anymore. I only got a cheap tall man's Jersey from Nashbar, one from AeroTech, and just bought a merino back pocketed T shirt from Rivendell. Plus some new J&G touring shorts. Had to get some tires to replace my old dry rotted ones too.

All that plus a Brooks saddle, A Sugino Compact crankset plus odds and ends easily tops $600 in addition to my Ebay binge. If I actually kept accurate records it might ruin the fun of spending it.

I'll be spending some more on clothes this year too. First thing on the list is a custom tall man's merino jersey from Eleven Velo. And some Dromarti leather shoes with some add on quill pedal cleats from "Yellow Jersey" since I foolishly gave away my Dettos years ago.

Close to $1500 for last year everything considered. Will come close to doubling that this year I'll bet.

That's easy ...

Amazon orders + Nashbar orders = $0.00

I have an amazon acct and I ordered about 150 items in the past year.

But they were all just free ebooks for my tablet. I don't even have a credit card or any other payment device attached to my acct. That has saved me lots of money!

Gotta love the Kindle Classics Collection for lots of free classic books! Also, not sure if you have seen this or not, but if you haven't check out http://www.bookbub.com/home/. You can set up a free account with them to find out when Amazon (or B&N + Others) are having book sales, and that includes e-books. I've scored a lot of free e-books with that one in just a few months.

Nashbar: 0
Amazon: -$[hundreds]

I work in a bike shop, so no need for discounted Nashbar product, *hack, spit*

We are drastically purging our lives and lifestyles, so we have hundreds of books up on amazon, already thousands of dollars of sales. And we don't buy much there other than Kindle titles.

Please don't ask about employee purchase bikeshop expenditures...

aw c'mon.
amazon does it for you - you don't need to bust out the calculator.
go to your orders page (the listing where you see everything and can track them) and pick 2013 from the drop menu, that will give you the # of orders.
to see your order totals, go to your main accounts page, under the Orders section at the top select download order reports. choose 2013 from the box to the right. it will compile and prepare an excel spreadsheet for you.
open it, and under the column where it lists all the prices just do a sum function and select the column and boom.
sounds like a lot of step but it seriously takes about 2 minutes tops.

Alright, @the sci guy,

For 2013, a grand total of 142 Amazon items + 1 Nashbar item, for a grand monetary total of $3,055.75.*

*Note: Not all of these were purchased with my own money...many friends take advantage of my Amazon Prime two-day shipping and I order items for them. This list is merely everything bike-related I have purchased through Amazon. The only Nashbar order was a Schwinn Sid frame for $49.

Edit: This took me a bit longer because I had to chop out all the orders that weren't bike-related. Original number of orders was 327. :-o

I spent it all on a move and a new mortgage-- I did get a set of tires in August, though. So the total is going to be ~$100ish.

you should have left everything in! I didn't say to eliminate all things that weren't bike related. I didn't. This is Foo. Not cycling talk.

Who you callin' Foo'?

Bloody Hell...327 Amazon items, for a grand monetary total of $14,164.22.

Most of these are work purchases with a business credit card, so thankfully I feel pretty guilt-free. I order all sorts of consumables + devices + giveaway items for our company through there. Still, it's pretty mind-blowing.

I do get bookbub in my inbox every day and skim it for free titles, grabbing any that look interesting. I get BookGorilla too, they usually have a few free titles every day.

A friend just gave me an amazon gc as a thank you for doing kitty care for her while she was away. Guess I need to look around on there for something to actually buy for real money.

$404 for just the cycling related stuff, just on Amazon. That's about what I originally spent to build it the year before. Ouch. Three chains, two cassettes, rear wheel and a crankset plus pedals - I need to go easier on my drive train this year!

Only in bad weather, but I spent nothing on that trusty old steed.
