Bye.bye Phil
Bye, bye happiness.
Hello emptiness,
I think I'm going to cry
. :(

That's a big loss to the pop music world. He and brother Don had a big influence on the musicians that followed (The Beatles, Rolling Stones, country musicians, etc). Their music is still in on the playlists of radio stations here in Los Angeles.

i remember first hearing that song, 'cathy's clown,' when i was a kid, some twenty years after it was first released. i knew it was old, but i found it so refreshing and catchy. couldn't stop humming it...

I agree that it will be a great loss. BUT not to the pop music world. Pop wasn't even invented then and YES they were the predecesors of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach boys, etc......... Its a time in music that there are very few left from that vintage. I'm 60 and I was very young listening to then.
