Explains everything. Don't let the "I'm an engineer" thing run your life. Engineering analysis is great with tangible systems. Engineering programs don't teach you the techniques required to analyze social systems.

I don't think it's creepy and I'm a female. Like sci-guy stated, she either accepted your request because she wants to get to know you or she's a friend collecter.

Give it a shot. Adventure is fun!

    I've been summoned....

If there's a way to reach this lady in person and offer a cup of coffee, I would recommend that. If that's not possible, offer said cup of coffee over facebook. Avoid the "i think i saw you bla blah". Just go straight to the point. And be prepared for a "no". You wont die from a rejection. But you wont know till you try.

Also, please do not go to Golden Corral. If the cup of coffee is accepted, please come back and ask for suggestions as per where to get said cup of coffee.

LOL, who would go to Golden Corral for coffee? You save that for after the wedding and a couple of kids.

Let me share a quick story about rejection:

My college roommate always dated absolutely STUNNING women. Really REALLY gorgeous. I don't mean to be rude, but he was easily below average in appearance. I asked him how he did it, and he replied: "I only ask out really gorgeous women. 9 times out of 10, I'm turned down, but that 10th time I'm rewarded. Women like self-confidence."

I know. I'd rather ask her out in person but I don't see her on a regular basis. Thats the problem. I could explain that to her later.

The problem with online asking is that she might ignore it. Face to face you always get a yes or a no. Being left wondering is worst.

but if it's a no, at least both he and she are spared that awkward moment when she pulls back in disgust

Ok so I asked her out for coffee on FB. Something like "Ive seen you at a few shows and didnt have a good opportunity to introduce myself. Coffee sometime?" She responded something like " hey, im ususally pretty busy all the time, im sorry, if you see me at another show, please come up and introduce yourself." Then I was like "ok cool, im usually pretty busy myself.....anyway, im going to see *blank* band on the 11th. If you end up there, see you then. Take care."

So we all know what this means. Shes just not interested. Screw it! Life goes on. Thanks for the replies guys/gals
