in strict compliance with your titular command...flipping out. but if you meant reality instead of realty...then yah...they pretty much all suck. we gave up game show programming for this?!

Brew Masters and Flying Wild Alaska were both pretty good.

Top Gear UK. Best "reality" show there is. I did actually like that Flying Wild Alaska, despite being massively disappointed in Discovery over the past several years.

Any show that declares itself reality is far far from it... give me good old westerns for all the crap we have on TV today.

The only reality show I watch and care about is The ahsposo Show. When it's not boring it's painful or embarrassing with widely scattered moments of joy and humor.

The Great British Bake Off.

Biggest Loser (just for the incessant excuses and the fatties all ganging up on each other).

American Pickers.

Top Gear.

RBT (which deals with roadside breath testing for alcohol and drugs -- again, for the incessant excuses but also the shock value in having these sorts of people out there driving).

Border Patrol and Customs (English and Australian shows that deal with people arriving in a country and having contraband on them, and as travellers, we are interested in what goes on).

The last one I really followed with interest was UFC's 'The Ultimate Fighter'- lost interest after they left Spike for Fox (something or other) and changed the format a little. Now I'm into the realty reality shows like 'House Hunters' (domestic and international), 'Selling New York', 'My First Place', and 'My First Sale'.

Portlandia. Less of a reality show than a gentle, kind-hearted documentary.

Call it my guilty pleasure . I don't consider it reality television, though.

Shark tank is about the only reality show I watch. Its a good show on business evaluation and business building.

It's a curious mix of people. Cuban is the 900 lb gorilla. O'Leary has no soul. And it's interesting when a proposal gets them all so excited that they forget their usual personal investment rules. It puts a face on business.

I don't get where you are calling Top Gear a reality show.

Alaska Final Frontier, that's the one we watch. Though the millions that they are each worth takes some of the "drama" of needing to build up their food supplies for winter out of it. Pretty cool though that they are worth millions and still choose to live like that.

I try not to sit in front of the TV but always watch River Monsters late at night.
Jeremy Wade investigates stories of people killing fresh water fish in some of the remotest places often finding new species and risking his own life to catch them.

It's not easy to find full episodes online but if you have enough band width I found this site. > https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&r...59930103,d.dGI There are others too.

As often the case with US TV, the program originates as a better UK version. In this case, The Dragon's Den.

Also, just re-read the thread title. 'Realty' shows that don't suck.... hmm, Buying Alaska, no wait, that sucks. Flip this house? No. Million Dollar Listing? Def NO. House Hunters?? Not without a frontal lobotomy.

I actually like the US version of Being Human better than the UK version, but that's the exception to the rule.

I like American Pickers, they have interesting bikes from time to time. And Fast and Loud, I grew up around gear heads, I could gap a set of points before I could ride a bike.

The worst is that show about the pawn shop in Detroit. It couldn't get more staged. There was one episode that I saw where the camera moved from one angle to the other, supposedly in real time, yet the in one angle a laptop computer is open, in the next shot/angle, it's closed, and there was no one near the laptop at the time, so it must have closed itself.

There are other "reality" shows that barely conceal that they are shooting in front of a green screen. One of the storage locker shows does it all the time, I don't watch it enough to remember which one.
