Hey Grampaw, What's for supper?

Tonight, hot dogs, with baked beans and oven roasted potatoes. I just use the recipe found on the back of Lipton's onion soup mix.
They're quite tasty. For the hot dogs, I like Kayem's all beef. I have tried some of the low-fat brands. Sorry those did not work for me.
I'm cutting down on red meat, but I'll find other places to cut.

Those roasted potatoes can also be had with eggs for breakfast. :D They lend themselves to microwave re-heating very nicely.

What are you all having?

ModoVincere 02-02-14 03:33 PM

Zaxby's chicken fingers and Chicken wings.....with fries and coleslaw.

Wanderer 02-02-14 03:36 PM

Hot dogs and chicken wings. Nathans hot dogs, and homemade bleu cheese dressing for the wings...... all the necessary condiments for a Chicago Style hot dog(s), and even some chili, cheese, and sport peppers. Maybe a little popcorn and beer...........

home made pizza. Mushroom onion to be specific.

+1 home made pizza. I made the dough using 1/2 pastry flour and 1/2 high gluten pizza flour and real butter. Home made marinara with ricotta for the sauce and a 5 cheese blend (mozarella, cheddar, parmesan, asiagio, monterey jack) melted on top. So that's 6 cheeses in total, plus Bacon and pineapple too. And now I can't move.

I'm doing the newer version DiGiorno frozen pizza. I always preferred theirs, for frozen, but now they started making them even better. Not fresh, but not bad at all. :)

The high gluten flour is clutch, in my opinion. And I generally go pretty light on the sauce and cheese. (I use two thirds mozzarella and one third jack.)

Veggie chilli Made with 5 different types of beans, corn, squash, onions and tomatoes. Real staple around my house. Left overs get rolled into burritos with potatoes and cheese.

Here is the basic recipe... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/the-bes...-in-the-world/

We add stuff to make it better. We leave out the "crumbles" and add red beans and white beans and cubes of butternut squash... and serve it with raw cubed onion on top.

That's on the menu for this evening. After our trainer\spin class tonight we're heading over to Stone Brewery for their meatless monday vegetarian chili.

I love Pho...I make my own, even the broth from scratch...no MSG either...I derive it naturally by soaking kombu in water and adding that when I make the stock... :)

Last night I went out for some Turkish... charcoal grilled lamb kabobs, Patlican Salatasi charcoal grilled eggplant mashed and tossed with garlic, lemon juice & extra virgin olive oil...A savory chilled yogurt soup and an off the hook baklava...Turkish Coffee too!

jsharr 02-03-14 01:40 PM
