Little things we take for granted...but are so grateful for.

For me, it was the ability to tie my own shoe without pain. To ride my bike slowly on the patch and be able to squeeze the brake lever. To be able to get dressed in the morning without having to be mindful of how far you can bend your thumb and wrist. To be able to hold your own dinner plate.

Made me think how wonderful things are with the gifts that you are given with being alive.

What little things are you grateful for that you have been taking for granted?

The words "I do" from my Father-in-Law when asked, "Who gives this woman away?"

BenzFanatic 02-04-14 02:09 PM

I'm pretty grateful for the fact that I'm not brain dead and don't have any cognitive damage.

bigfred 02-04-14 02:13 PM

For the fact that I can stand up on my own again. And, wipe my own behind.

toilet paper in the dispenser in the stall at work.

Second chances and more. Will not get this moved to P&R but I will leave it at that. Those of you who really know will get it.

The little arrow beside the gas symbol in the instrument cluster. Saved me a lot of time looking for the gas cap on unfamiliar vehicles.

Grateful for getting (most of), my short-term memory back after a concussion a few years ago. Want to talk about a little thing you don't think much of until you lose it, then it's not so little anymore.

This is very true.

The happiness my dog gave me every day over the past 14 years.

Breathing.

I just went through a very nasty flu and cold event... breathing at night was quite hindered. It is all clearing up slowly now... and every lung filling cool breath through my nose is a reminder that things could be a lot worse.

Shoelaces and belt. Food choices. Windows without bars.

Isn't 'adverbs' really a noun?

Is this a case of cross dressing parts of speech?

ahsposo 02-04-14 06:20 PM

As to the OP.

I'm grateful I can speak my mind and only be taken for a fool rather than a political prisoner.

Learning not to hate people who have done me wrong.

I hate snow, but then it looks so pretty, but it's hard to ride a bike,
but when it snows a lot my office closes, but it melts and turns to ice.......................................
