Had mine out on Christmas Eve. Pain wasn't bad. Just felt really weak for a week or so and it took two or three weeks for my digestive system to regulate itself again. I'm back to normal now!

How long before you could start wrening on a bike? I've got the whole family to service and don't like just sitting around.

Resist the urge to troll. I was off the bike for a month due to my third angioplasty in two months. I used the time to stay away from everything and anything related to cycling. It actually felt quite nice.

now that I can ride again, however, it feels great to be "here" and on the bike.

Does it count I'm going have a wisdom tooth pulled Thursday? This is a 47 y.o. wisdom tooth of a family of 4. It will be missed. From the pain it gives me when I eat now it must be my "go to" grinding molar.

Short answer would be to follow whatever your Dr. says. I think for me it was about three weeks. Ironically, my first ride after I was cleared I had one of my rare single person bike crashes. No real harm done, but I felt like an idiot anyways.

Well, I don't believe I know ya, but you can still grumble in my general direction, if it helps. Just don't expect any actual help.

My doctor didn't give me any restrictions other than not to lift more than 10 lbs since you are at a risk of getting a hernia until your incisions heal up. I didn't really feel up to doing much of anything that required getting off my butt for about a week and what I did do was limited to a short duration. I did work a 16 hour shift 6 days after surgery though. Granted I just sit at a desk, but that was a rough day!

Yea I was told no more than 10lbs for 4 weeks! I'm a heavy diesel mechanic by trade so no work. It could be worse, I could be in pain, but they gave me the good stuff to take. I just get soooooo bored!

...I've had a number of minor surgeries for various things (T+A, R Knee, Carpal tunnel release).
None affected me as profoundly as whatever they did when I was under the anesthesia for a wisdom tooth extraction.

Put your affairs in order, and hope for the best. Maybe your guy is a little more skillful as an anesthesiologist.
