Move to South Carolina - even cheaper and folks seem to respect bikers.

My boss lives in Georgia. He says bikes belong on sidewalks. Or in the woods.

... I'm just guessing that it might be marginally better over near the coast, like Savannah. Charleston, S.C. is very cool, though.

Don't move to Colorado. We're not bike friendly at all

And also, our border is closed unless you're here to buy marijuana.

That was not my experience. It was one of the primary reasons I left SC. Rural biking was ok. Mountain biking was great. Biking anywhere in the greater Greenville area is fine for those with a death wish.

If Georgia's government continues to be incompetent/criminal I would imagine many folks will be following you.

Hmmm. That's my playground. When did you move away?

Greenville is upscale and has a large and active cycling community, with several group rides per week. It's a small place so it's easy to get out of town. The US Pros were recently held here for two years.

I can't imagine that Wisconsin is better because of the severe weather.

For many many many reasons don't come to FL. However, everyone is very polite to cyclist. They will hit and run, but they won't yell at you.

Feel free to move to NJ. The roads suck, but you wont get hassled from drives too much. Off the bike, you may have issues with us.

My limited experience on the road ( I ride rails to trails after I first started riding) is 30 mph for 8 seconds which is faster than I could pedal, then 2-3 mph for 20 minutes or so, LOL. I figure it would take me little over 3 and a half hours to commute to work 20 miles since it is just about exactly 50% uphill and 50% downhill. That would be 3.33 hours for the 10 miles of uphill and .33 hours for the 10 miles downhill.

Dude! I am with you. This city / state irritates me to the point of insanity. I have to say that North GA is still pretty nice. Anything south of the beginning of 400 SUCKS!

Connecticut is OK for about 8 months of the year, providing you live in a rural area. I've been treated OK for the most part. I spend a few weeks in Florida every winter and feel like I'm taking my life in my hands if I venture too far from my golf course community.
