Hello! This is your knee...

So, when I look at the picture I understand that there is no cartilage thing on the tibia. Is that right? I thought that cartilage was present both on the femur and tibia. We can also say that meniscus is only present on the tibia. That is also right?

I thought meniscus was a latin-oriented boy band.

Absolutely right! That group was a spring board for Ricky Parton's career.

No, no, no, meniscus is what they serve at a Mexican seafood place. Fish tacos and whatnot.

I thought meniscus was cussing under your breath when it is really cold outside or when your kids can hear you.

Dolly Parton's latin nephew who does the Macarena with his boy band while eating Mexican food and cussing under his breath.

The word has multiple meanings depending on several factors. When it is capitalized, as in Meniscus, it refers to the boy band. When it is in all lower case letters and pronounced məˈniskəs, it refers to a crescent shaped body, most often associated with the female form. When it is pronounced men.niskəs, it's meaning is quite different, referring to an act performed by men of questionable character. When it is pronounced mā'niskəs, it is yet again different, meaning the possibility of being cheated from that which is rightfully yours. Finally, when it is pronounced məˈ.nit.kis, it means you may not kiss.

Yes, you have (or at least you did at one time) have cartilage on both sides of both knees, as well as on the Patella. Even if you are in a boy band in a Mexican restaurant with Dolly Parton.

I'd like to see a high res version of this. It looks so thin, the cartilage.
