what if Tom hanks made a spoof movie of his greatest hits & cleverly combined elements from one into the other like mixing You've Got Mail w/ Sleepless in Seattle & mixing Cast Away w/ Captain Phillips, etc

If you make him the character Forrest Gump in it then it's gold

"MH370 flew along the southern corridor and ... its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth. This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that according to this new data Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean." - Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak

CBC's twitter feed.

Seems to be based on analysis by a British firm.

Well, that eliminates my Martian theory.

EthanYQX 03-24-14 08:14 AM

Unless the Brits are also Martians and are helping the coverup.

I was unaware that the Australians had ridiculous radar pointed at Asia like we did at the USSR.

I wonder if someone in an office in Alice Springs knows stuff they can't talk about.

himespau 03-24-14 08:38 AM

Sounds like they're fairly confident now.

I think the IMARSAT guys had a close plot a couple days after the jet went missing but it was blown off by the Malaysians.

I bet they watched that plane go... somewhere.

well, except if that's where the mother ship was hovering ...

rumrunn6 03-25-14 09:33 AM

anyone else see the video of the flight crew being "frisked" at the security checkpoint? I'm no expert, but the attendant barely touched the outside of their arms and legs. that was a not a security check in any way shape or form in my opinion. I know they apparently went through a metal detector, so if they brought a weapon it would have to be something that wouldn't trigger the detector. passengers don't get frisked do they? why would they have to frisk the crew? if they had to frisk the crew why wouldn't they do it properly? just seems like a suspicious gap there ...

Njbudman81 03-25-14 03:36 PM

Sorry I don't buy this story at all. At this point they might even through some seats in the water.

What might actually be happening is the government wants to make whoever has the jet think they aren't looking for it. Then they might use CIA tactics to find it once the guard is let down.

So Inmarsat is in on this too?

I'm curious as to what it is that foments the so fanciful and illogical lines of thinking found in places in this thread? For me it just feels disrespectful to the families and friends of the 239 people.

Njbudman81 03-25-14 04:53 PM

If they really knew where the jets crashed they would have seats, luggage or bodies. Seat cushions are flotation devices. That jet would break apart on impact so there would be pieces. This just just seems like they want to wrap up the story because they just don't know. So I don't buy it. Whether it's disrespectful or not I don't care. There are plenty of dead people as the result of government cover ups.

At this point, the only thing the Malaysian government may be guilty of is poor emergency preparedness. A little too soon to suggest cover-ups.

Njbudman81 03-25-14 05:40 PM

I think the plane is being turned into a weapon. I said this a while ago. I think the bs story they came up with is to revert people's attention and put out a false sense of security to really has the plane.

I will stick with Martians. :)

Njbudman81 03-25-14 07:00 PM

Hey go with it. CNN was talking about a black hole, the Bermuda Triangle and calling psychics so why not

bigbenaugust 03-25-14 07:12 PM

I just heard that the search area is twice the size of France down there.

Will G 03-25-14 07:58 PM

Let's see.....pulverize a 300 ton jet into fragments in an obscure ocean, let it soak/sink, be influenced by tides and winds for two weeks thus scattering the remaining small debris over an area God knows how huge with very few assets available to search a small percentage of the potential remaining debris field and then act shocked we can't find the answers to our questions. Yeah, that makes sense.

rumrunn6 03-26-14 08:50 AM

with respect to the families I find the search and mystery so very important. they want answers too. in the absence of answers we have only theories based on evidence. the evidence has been inconclusive. "expert opinions say" sounds a lot like "ancient astronaut theorists say"

last night I was watching a discussion about the "half ping" and I could swear I heard ppl saying things that assumed were fact but seemed like they misinterpreted something they heard or read reported elsewhere and that lead the discussion in a weird circle.

those poor families. with a regular crash you get the bad news all at once. but like the landslide in Washington, ppl stand around until they realize the inevitable. devastating and cruel
