Birthday Suggestions?

I have a B-day coming up & I'm fresh out of ideas how to make it special. What have you done for yourself, that turned out to be a good idea. Lord knows I'm full of bad ideas ...

Well the obvious idea is the usual cyclist birthday celebration ... cycle your age in miles. So if you're turning 50, you would go out and cycle 50 miles.

My birthday was in early March ... I chose that day to cycle my age, and then some (to make up for other years where I might not have cycled the full distance of my age.)

Fortunately that weekend is a long weekend here in Australia, so we went to northern Tasmania and stayed in a lovely B&B, in a beautiful converted barn for the weekend. On the first day we did a short ride around town just to explore, and then on my birthday, we did a 113 km ride ... my age plus quite a bit. Out for dinner each night ... lots of chocolate ... all good.

Jealousy brings out the worst in us. I agree with bigben. At least tell us it was a two seater and you just had to sit there for an hour.

Waking up, face down, in a pool of your own vomit tends to let one know you've had a good day. Give it a try!

My birthday will now also forever be mixed up with the anniversary of our cross-country move, since we arrived in NC on my birthday last year. My sister and her husband will be in town on their way to a run in Greensboro and the Lego club is doing a thing at the planetarium that weekend, so we will go with the kids. We will probably hit the teppan steak house we went to our first night in NC.

I also intend on watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail, if only so I can say "I'm 37, I'm not old!". I'll probably work a ride in there sometime, too.
