If you're talking forks and shocks, it's damping. Not dampening.

Don't ask me to unthaw something unless you want me to put a previously frozen thing back in the freezer.

And also, aluminum is an alloy only if there's other stuff in it.
I know next to nothing. I am frequently wrong.

Prior to about oh, say 1840ish, you all US of A residents would be at a loss for words as an "American" dictionary didn't exist. In recognition of such disturbing times, I salute you with my index finger

Last time I checked, SW Washington state was part of the US of A.

What part of "last" do you not understand? It denotes past tense, as does the word "was". I have not checked today to see if Washington state is still part of the US of A and I really do not care to operate on assumptions.

    Hey, I'm kidding.

I was going to add that H2O freezes at 32 degrees but thought that was over the top. Besides I think Metric rules.

However the correct method of driving is staying to the right. Driving on the left (the wrong side) makes me nauseous just to watch it. Plus it's dangerous to try to cross the street where they do it. Cars and trucks are always coming at you on the wrong side.

Does forks bother you too? Like the rear forks of my bike are bent.
If you don't know the way, you shouldn't be going there.

Driving on the left may make you experience nausea or it may make you nauseated, but I doubt is makes you nauseous. In order to be nauseous, you would have to make others experience nausea. This is true under both metric and imperial systems of measurement.

I think one of the things I like about this forum (besides the bicycle knowledgeable members) is the casual attitude towards grammar, spelling, and even terminology.

I do however feel bad for the OP. We all have our imperfections (I certainly have many). It would be difficult to enjoy Internet forums while tolerating a difficult pet peeve. I will make more of an effort to monitor my posts.

How did this thread get to 2 pages without someone derailing it to discuss the proper pronunciation of pannier?

This was mostly me just blowing off steam, since it's just irrational anyway. I think it rude and pointless to correct someone's grammar or spelling in an actual post because it only threatens to derail what might be worthwhile discussion, but at some point I gotta let it out. This way it's directed at no one in particular, and clearly in the forum for things that are irrelevant and off-topic to everything.

Unless you've been to the Library of Congress the "last time you checked", you all gonna assume a lot about states.
