I had a Really Great Day yesterday!

Note first, no wheelchair, in ANY of the pics. I did the whole day in the walker. Huge improvement!

Second, I caught a juvenile Smooth Hammerhead Shark. It was released, of course, but hey, it was pretty cool holding a shark in my hands. I also had a line buster. I got it close enough to see it was about a 7[ Bullhead Shark, but it broke the line before my wife could get that pic and there was no way we were going to get that fish on the pier, anyhoo!

Gonna have to find out your fishing spot so that I can avoid it- my daughter has a phobia when it comes to sharks... and spiders and clowns.

No, and hammerheads are protected....catch and release only.

Nice. Even a bad day fishing is a good day. Was the hammerhead full of attitude? My friends and I caught a bunch of dogfish (approx. 3 ft in length) on a fishing trip years ago off Ocean City, Maryland. Three feet is about their full grown size and they were fairly docile. One buddy caught a similar sized black tip which was a whole different animal - feisty as hell and more than willing to remove a chunk of your flesh if you weren't careful.

The hammerhead was feisty. It tried to turn in my hand and bite me, and left tooth marks in the needlenose pliers I was using to pull the hook.

No jsharr, no bass.....sorry. I am more a catfish fan when fishing fresh water, anyway/

One day I was out on Ship Island off the coast of Mississippi. Someone had caught a small shark, maybe a foot and a half long. It was dead. I picked it up. The kids around were very curious. I had them stroke it up and down so they could feel how the skin was smooth one way and rough the other.

Nice going, Tom.

I was eaten by sharks once. Fortunately, it turns out that in addition to bad taste, I taste bad.

My neighbor (RIP) in New Orleans grilled some shark once upon a time, and it was pretty good as I recall. I believe with him and his wife, it was genetic. They could cook just about anything you could name, and more often than not, it turned out to be good enough to ask for seconds.

Glad you are feeling and doing better!
