Finally broke down and bought a truck. Always wanted one, but never had a good excuse. Now I 'kind of' need one since we moved onto an acreage ... kind of :o

Anyone else have photos of their truck(s)?

Ignore the decals, they're coming off...

I love trucks, and since my commute is about 7 minutes both ways so A) I can ride my bike in nice weather and B) The gas bill from driving to work won't change too much, I think that'll be my next vehicle. Plus the gas mileage keeps improving, I think the new Taco gets better mileage than my Scoob. Plus it'll haul mountain bikes, snowmobiles, kayaks, and tow a little camper trailer like a Jayco Kiwi.

I'm 99% sure I'll be buying myself a Tacoma when I check out, but the Ford is also on the list. How are you liking it? I haven't driven one yet. What engine did you go for? That is a sharp looking truck for sure, congrats.

Is that 4x4? That thing's awesome, looks like it may have been an ambulance at some point.

That one will most likely also tow a little camper like a Jayco Kiwi.

Honestly I wouldn't have considered buying a truck except I need one for work, travelling to job sites. Otherwise I would have stuck with a fuel efficient car. We've kept our Toyota Matrix for the majority of our driving.

So far I love the truck. I chose a Ford because it's what mostly used up here in heavy industry. I'm also very familiar driving Ford trucks from our work fleet of trucks.

I rented a F150 this past weekend to visit my MIL in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. We'd stored some things in her shed when we lived in a tiny duplex, and she had a 6' ladder she was giving us, and we wanted to bring our cat along for the trip. The only complaints I have about the truck are the lack of a back up camera like our Hyundai Veloster has, and the bench seats were not that great for a 6 hour drive.

I do want to get a truck soon. Right now I've got it narrowed down to the F150, Tundra, and the Ram 1500 a distant 3rd. When I do get a truck, I'll get a back up camera for it. I'm not that concerned about the bench seats for long drives, as we would rarely take it on long trips.

Definitely get bucket seats in the front. They're awesome for comfort. Also, we got a loaded truck, so it came with the backup camera with an 8" screen. It's been handy already.
