Bass, Hell! Saltwater Catfish are some fighters

This is a Gaftopsail Catfish I caught today.

These fish are not only tasty, but they are great fighters as well. Mine is about 30 inches long and missed the Fla State Record for Gaftopsail Catfish by 8 oz. 8 lbs and 14 OZ and 32" long is the state record fish and mine weighed in at 8 pounds and 5 OZ.

Today has been a good day. I also caught a little tiddler Hardhead Cat, maybe a pound and inches long....not good for eating...they taste gamey and nasty, apparently. Even Bull Sharks won't eat 'em, although it's said they make good live bait for Tarpon, since Tarpon has such a boney mouth and they will eat a hardhead.

I suppose now you are going to torture us with pictures of it on the grill or in the smoker.

Yep, tomorrow, I'm making some more Pastrami tomorrow as well. The fish is marinating in a Lime Ponzu marinade as we type and read.

I'm ready to cycle right on over for that; I'll bring the beer . . .
