Tape

Whats the best tape in the world? Duct tape, Electrical tape or Gaffer Tape? Discuss...

Duct tape and WD40 solve all problems. If it moves and it is not supposed to but duct tape on it. If it is supposed to move and doesn't put wd40 on it.

Maxell XL-II, or the TDK equivalent Type II tape whose name eludes me at the moment. Failing that, Gorilla Tape. Failing even that, duct tape.

ahsposo 05-10-14 07:43 PM

Worm.

Black cork Cinelli.

18 minutes of Nixon in the Oval Office.

ahsposo 05-10-14 07:47 PM

But gaffer is my all time favorite.

Frog tape for painting is next.

sknhgy 05-10-14 07:57 PM

I had to look up gaffer tape.

So it was the TDK SA tape. Or even Nashbar handlebar tape... in camo, please.

It's like duct tape but gives up from the surface easily. Location photographers, film makers use it to hold cable, bushes, garments, mount lights...

It's a wonder!

ahsposo 05-10-14 08:21 PM

Ooooh! And then there's Velcro tape! The Industrial strength is a total problem solver for mounting switches, media players, surge protectors...

Artkansas 05-10-14 10:44 PM

I'm a clear packing tape fan myself. I use more playing than packing.

Artkansas 05-10-14 10:48 PM

Then there's the new cassette tape that will hold 185 terabytes of data.

It all depends on what the task at hand is...

:innocent:

Stick tape of course.

I had to look it up and then wondered why I didn't know of it and already have some.

Dude...

Of course it's probably what hockey players use for stick tape.

This stuff is truly awesome. It's like duct tape perfected, or WD-400.

ahsposo 05-11-14 07:52 PM

But you still need to check out Velcro Industrial.

You could even use it on yout hockey stick...

ahsposo 05-11-14 07:56 PM

And all electrical tape is not the same.

Most "electrical tape" is a ETSO.

tizeye 05-12-14 03:41 AM

Cheap duct tape isn't worth it. Come back an hour later and is peeling away. Really gone down in quality.

Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver.

FlatTop 05-13-14 12:45 PM

From the past: Friction tape, ideal for many uses.
From the present: Self-fusing silicone tape, for water leaks and sealing cable connections.
From the future: Meld tape, able to replicate any material's cell structure and create a repair matrix that is as strong as original and completely undetectable.
Or just duct tape.
