Cat defends boy from dog attack.

A family cat took on a neighbours dog when it attacked a boy and chased the dog off.

That is really awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Yes Cats aren't always the selfish creatures they are made out to be.

A friend of mine told me a story years ago about his family cat who took on a neighbours dog who was attacking HIS family's dog. Charged in, took a swipe at the other dog and ran off. Gave his dog enough time to get away.

I'm not a cat person but that was pretty amazing. That dog better be put down as sad as that is, that kind of behavior shouldn't be tolerated, period.

That dog is clearly ***** whipped.

Sucks that the little boy and the mom were both bitten.

Dog should be put down.

Kitteh done good. Dog needs medication, 0.451" in diameter and administered at 825 feet/sec.

I love how the cat uses its whole body to hit the dog. A pitbull attacked one of my dogs recently, another idiot owner that just leaves their dog in an unfenced yard. Luckily one of my Aussies is ferocious and put a quick end to it.

When the cat comes back under the suv, at about 35 seconds, does the mom just bail on the kid and run away, perhaps thinking the dog is returning, too?

Does the cat do a lot better than the mom, or am I misreading that?

That boy belongs to the cat. He has no intention of sharing with the dog. ;)

I'm impressed.

I imagine that the mom was going for first aid, or to call 911.

I have never liked dogs. The number of dogs in the US is just unbelievable. The amount of noise they generate alone is reason to hate them.

On the Youtube link the Dad says the mother went after the dog and got bit too. After the owner got the dog she went back to the boy. He didn't show that because this video was about the cat saving the boy. I was wondering why the video photographer didn't put down the camera and help the kid. I guess the footage was all from security cameras.

The video was actually from a security camera - no one was filming the attack. The family did not realize until later the cat saved the boy... cats are fierce man, you don't mess around with their food source!

Or their staff...

Good deed indeed. And the dog should be put down.

But if the dog were an accomplished cat stalker the cat just wouldn't stand a chance. Don't kid yourself.....A dog that makes a longtime practice of killing cats has it down to a fine art.

I've heard adopted pets are more loyal than pets who were stored bought or from a private breeder. I guess it's because dogs / cats realize you're getting them out of a bad situation (living in a 2x2 cage or forced to find scraps of food on the street everyday) to a loving home where they get fed everyday and get to roam around in a much bigger area. From what the family has said, the cat followed them home one day so the family took him/her in (kind of like adopting it in a way). Maybe this heroic act by the cat is like saying "thanks for taking me in."

You're too funny. Your statement ironically describes human beings as well. Maybe you should go live in the rurals so you won't be bothered with "noise."

This video got more play in the last 24 hours on national television than the Ukraine or the Korean ferry story.
