    Anyone do business with USAA?

My wife is a vet (Navy) and decided to check out USAA on auto insurance. Gotta say that the online quote, if it holds, is rather....enticing. For example, same coverage we have now, plus a lower deductible, and we would still see a net savings of ~$40/mo*. Heck, we could even double the current coverage and still come out with a net savings.

Sounds like a no-brainer, right? Thing is, there are no local agents/offices- and I've heard horror stories of dealing with online companies, so we are kinda hesitant to give them a shot at earning our business.

*We got the new car and the premium went up by $25/mo, so we increased the deductible up $250 to 'save' $15/mo on the premium. And this is with the least cost agency that has an office in our town- AAA was quoting an additional $50/mo

I've been with USAA for quite some time and have filed claims for car, boat, and house damage and never had a problem. That being, I do know some people that dropped USAA because of problems.

I've had USAA for over 20 years. Simply the best insurance company out there. Never had a single problem with any claim. Never any bickering or negotiating.

We've had car insurance with USAA, loans and banking. Never had any problems. Customer service has been great and we have had to use them to file claims for auto accidents.

If you can get in you should. I'm a long time member, I've had excellent service from insurance and bank services. The online site is well coordinated between bank and insurance, so you can do everything online making it very easy.

USAA member since the mid-80s. They've been a great company to deal with on insurance, auto loan, banking, etc.

Love USAA. The few times I had auto claims, they were settled quickly. Some of the very few customer service people I actually like to deal with on the phone, and a phenomenal online interface.
I know next to nothing. I am frequently wrong.

USAA is great. In addition to the low rates, all members (it is a member organization) receive a rebate distribution at the end of the hear. I have been a member since the 80's, currently using home insurance, auto insurance, auto loan, my second longest credit card (since the 80's) which really cranks up my credit score. Claims have been quick and fair. Absolutely no problem. Daughter uses the banking as her US$ account, and credit card as she lives in Europe - no fees (unlike B of A) and she scans US$ deposits to her account. I believe son also uses for auto insurance.

It is the best deal out there.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Fairly sure we'll make the switch in the very near future.

Good decision. USAA is one of the great deals left in the world. You owe your wife lots for access to USAA services...
