They're not necessarily favorites, but John Fahey isn't getting any love in this thread.

And then some Davy Graham for good measure.

Wow, I can't wait to get home on a computer capable of playing youtube videos!

I haven't watched any of those yet (except have seen the Clapton one many many times.) Since the band would be my #1 band miles above everyone else, the guitarist my #1 miles above everyone else, and the song my #2 miles above anything from anyone else, going acoustic it would have to be David Gilmour doing Shine on You Crazy Diamond.

For the sake of the tonal quality (timbre) I've always loved Die Kunst der Fuge as played by the Keller Quartet.

Its not single tune, but any tune that can successfully go from electric to acoustic. Here's Social Distortion doing a great acoustic version of their song 'Ball and Chain'

Chubby Checker's acoustic cover of La Bamba (First made a hit by the late Ritchie Valens) and this one in English.

And Huddie Ledbetter's 12 string rural blues.......nothing fancy. Just typical of the era genre.

Macyn's great isn't she. Macyn graduated from musical college at age 17. One of her tutors/mentors is the great Leo Kottke. Macyn does do Leo Kottke covers very well.

While I'm at it, Leo Kottke,

Oh I gotta love a great player on a 12 string slide like that

You'd probably like a slide guitar player named "Roy Rogers".....plugged in though.
