The PSP is a video game, movie and MP3 player all-in-one. In addition, you can play multi-player games wirelessly. I believe there's about 20 games that are already available and at least 1 movie: Spider Man 2. Other movies are being released in April. The format for the video game and movies is not a standard CD or DVD; it's called UMD (Universal Media Disk) and it can hold up to 1.8 gig of data.

It just doesn't seem worth it if you have to rebuy all the dvd's you already own. You might as well just buy a portable DVD player for like 100 bucks at walmart. That way you still have 150 bucks to spend on your bike.

The graphics are kick ass, the only problem is the batt is like 2 hours. Trust me I am an only Ps2 guy, if the batterywas longer I would get it.

Got one for my hubby's B-day on Saturday. The thing is kick*ss compared to the rest of the gadgets out there. Now I am glad we never got him the Nintendo DS. The graphics are as good as any computer. Right now it is coming with the movie Spiderman and the graphics are as good as watching it on my good Television.

Definitely worth it IMO... Came with earphones, remote, carrying case and memory card. You can hook it up to the PC via USB to download other movies if you like..

It might be a bit before any new games/movies come out, but I can't wait..

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!! My friend came out at recess today and one of my other friends bumped into him, at that same moment he was taking out his brand new PSP that he just got yesterday. It hit the concrete and BAM! Broken...$240 only for it to be smashed. After awhile he managed to fix the sceen but it was still pretty scratched up. You think he'd be smart enough to not bring it to school.

Fine "lunch" break, Im in grade 8. They call it recess but that makes it sound childish.

My son is getting one and I'm thinking of getting one for myself. I don't have a DVD player or an MP3 player. So, I might get just the PSP (no package) and use it when I commute on the train.

Not a good idea, it can't hold many songs and it takes small DVDs. You could burn DVDs to a smaller disc using your computer but that sounds like too much work just to be used for commuting.

How many hours of music can you get on it? Also do you have to pay for the online services?
