"This one's from the heart" Chrissy Hynde has seen 1st hand the damage done - lost 2 members of the band to drugs

Here's a couple of cool versions of the Peter Gunn theme. Like Rawhide, there's been a lot of covers of this classic TV show theme. Poison Ivy was the guitarist and co-founder of the Cramps, The Silencers are a little known band out of Pittsburg.

Lou Reed doing a song originally performed by the Drifters/Ben E. King (1960), Jay and the Americans (1969). Kind of a creepy sound, but its a Lou Reed arrangement used in a David Lynch film, so it makes perfect sense:

    Are we having fun yet?

Here's a well known cover, which I was nearly driven to insanity by my younger sister's incessant playing of the original, and then went through my grand children's rediscovery of it.

Seriously. This is TERRIBLE! If it was an unknown band they would be panned and everyone would walkout on them. However its Nirvana so most will think its COOL!

    Go figure.

Yes I was being a CRANK! Seriously though I was interested to see what spin Nirvana put on the song but it only came over as a cover version I might hear down at my local pub being done by a band that only formed a couple of months ago.

    Anyway.

Do tribute bands fit in here, since they're all about covers? I'd love to see these guys live.

I was expecting this to be a harsh analysis, but I find it spot on.

    Steve Martin gettin' serious:

Like Mark Foster on Helena Beat, Kellin Quinn has an androgynous vocal here that without the video, I might think was a girl. Emo band Sleeping With Sirens covering Goo Goo Dolls

Here's 2 versions of the Little Willie John song I'm Shakin' (written by the 1 bourbon, 1 scotch 1 beer guy Rudy Toombs) I'm partial to the Blasters, but Jack White's video is very good:
