    Five Guys Prices?

OK I am a sucker for fast food. I know it is bad for me but I would much rather eat what I really enjoy.

I have a special fondness for Five Guys burgers and fries. I don't go all that often, maybe once every few weeks.

I have noticed a significant increase in price over the past few weeks. I thought I was able to get A regular burger and fries for under $9. Now that meal is over $10. Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in prices over the past few weeks? It is now over that $10 limit. Not sure I will be going back as much. Maybe a good thing.

We don't have five Guys where I live, but I haven't noticed any price increase in places like In-N-Out.

I haven't been to 5 guys in a few weeks but I didn't notice a price increase then, but the online menu shows $10.58 for a cheeseburger and fries so you're right.

Quality seems to vary, I love one by work but could take or leave it the one by home.

There's one in the shopping center behind OCRR and one near the new Lowes.

Apparently service does too. There was another crew working at the one near me. They were always extremely, polite, cheerful and helpful. Gave you a real good feeling toward the American youth. The crew tonight was so so.

Here is part of your answer: Meat, fish and poultry prices have increased sharply to an all-time high

That makes me glad I'm vegan...

    Well, except for the bacon...

    and beef jerky...

    and venison...

    and eggs...

    and burgers...

    and chicken...

    and seafood...

    and pork...

    and lamb...

    and steak...

    and milk and butter...

    and cheese...

Other than that, I'm pretty much a vegan.

I don't know about down there but up here in the GWN cattle prices are up.

Herd sizes had been down for a few years due to lowered demand but an increase in the demand plus a lowering in the number of head sent to slaughter so as to breed them to increase herd sizes has put upward pressure on beef prices for the consumer.

You guys are spoiled. Try Five Guys up here in Canada where the same burger and fries cost over 15 bucks. I don't go there since Fatburger entered the market. They are my new favorite excluding Elk and Bison burgers I make at home.

I noticed that our local burger joint just raised all their prices by about fifty cents. Probably related.

I just got back. I was shocked at the prices. Unbelievable. Went into a small no nothing cafe on Wolfe Island, fires were $2.50 alone!

Drought. Less pasture grass = smaller herd sizes. Also increased feed costs. Rising fuel costs, too.

I don't eat fast food burgers. Industrial meat, for sure. For the cost of that Five Guys meal, I'll get a steak and a potato...

I find the little fry is a great value, too much for me to eat myself, even with only a single burger. I think 5 guys is all about the fries, especially extra crispy.

Not up here. Canadian beef was banned from many Asian markets after the mad cow scare about ten years ago and only just recently have they reopened to our business.

Now that demand is back up they're rebuilding the herds but that necessitates sending less head to slaughter for a while.

Where in Pittsburgh do you live? Depending upon location is Burgerz 'n' Dogz which is in South Park for now, but they are opening in Mt. Lebanon and Washington County soon. They beat the pants off of any burger chain. Their made to order burgers start out at $8. Awesome and tasty!

Also, do not go to Burgatory! They are expensive, bland, and I've always waited over a half hour or more to eat there. Not worth it.

I live in Robinson. There is a Burgatory right near 5 Guys. In fact in the same building. I have been thinking of trying it but I figure why try it when I really like 5 Guys. Thanks for the warning.

I wish Sonic would open near here. I have been wanting to try them. Also lover Jersey Mikes. They have been saying they are going to open a place in Robinson but so far no dice. I need to wait till I go to Lake Arthur to get my Jersey Mikes fix and since selling my boat I don't go often.

I think you get the same amount no matter what size you order. No extra crispy here. Nice and soft potatoes the way I like them.

The one time I went to 5 guys, I was very underwhelmed by the fries. I didn't enjoy them at all. The burger was tasty, but overly greasy. Nowhere near as bad as a Sonic burger though. Been there three times, and the two burgers were more grease than meat and the "grilled" chicken the other time was a dried out piece of leather.
Punctuation is important. It's the difference between "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse" and "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse"
