Remember the Sons of Champlin? This is their song "Get High". The solo on the vibes is outstanding (or should I say trippy), sax work is great too on this song. It's from 1969.

That title reminded me of another song that should be on the list : Sir Sly the 1st

I'm not so sure about your initial assertion. The full title is "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35". In those days, a "number" was slang for a marijuana cigarette.

I found this 1966 classic while rummaging through my older brother's collection of vinyl this weekend (dang, he's got some good stuff!). You should be able to guess what its about:

Though this band states that this song's title was derived after observing an injury at a hockey game, many fans interpreted it as a drug song.

Bringing this thread back from rehab....I worry that Matt Healy might go the way of countless other front-men and leave before his time. My daughters saw The 1975 before Christmas and he drank through the whole show and fell down once, but still delivered a great show. He could be the next Michael Hutchence, hopefully not. Proving they're not a "Pop Band" on this track, as they did on their 1st hit Chocolate (post 27)
