Free cloud storage for photos?

I'm a bit behind the times as to all of the various cloud-based photo storage options . I just got a new phone and while the camera isn't stellar by any means, it is better than the VGA, pixelated, Minecraft quality of the old phone. I would have to transfer photos via MicroSD card from phone to laptop. I have access to both Google products and OneDrive from MS.

I was wondering if a photo-sharing service like flickr would be of more benefit than Google Drive or OneDrive.

Read the EULA before you sign up for anything.

I like flickr. I just upload pics directly from phone. Do it while on wifi only if you upload a lot of pics.

Also check your phone settings, google+ settings and Picasa settings if you have a google account on phone. I've heard some horror stories of folks unknowingly having every phone pic taken uploaded to Picasa and/or posting all to g+

Also if you use Ride With GPS, check the photo settings on that app. Mine uploads every pic I take during an activity recording. I really need to get in there and change that setting on mine.

I have a basic flip phone- TRACFONE Alcatel A392G NoContract Cell Phone A392G - Best Buy. It is a considerable upgrade over what it replaced

Yeah, I hear you. I do have a Nexus 7 and my daughter has my old Nextbook 7" tablet. I discovered early on that Google does their 'Auto Back-up' automatically- I've set the privacy to "only me" on both devices (both logged under the same account) and now I see that I need to go through them and do a bit of clean up...

Ah I see. Well hopefully you can just plug phone into computer with a USB cable to upload, that would be easier than sd card rigamarole.

Flickr is probably the cheapest and easiest option right now.
But be prepared to pay for something more as you collect more photos.

+1 There are no free lunches. Most modern revenue streamed services involve monthly service fee's.

I have my phone set up to send photos to Dropbox and Google Pictures when on wifi. The Dropbox has limited space (4gb) so I move the pictures out of there regularly. The Google Pictures says it has unlimited free space if I have the photos at regular (not huge) size. I've tried to set up my pictures to load to Flickr (1tb space for free) but for some reason they don't seem to be going there.

I don't know if there's a way to auto-upload to flicker. Not sure that I'd want that personally. I just use the app to select which ones I want to upload OR use the Android Gallery app, and upload to flicker and/or facebook from there.
