I've got a '70s Sony like this one that I bought in the '80s that still works. I've only occasionally used it since the late '90s as a video capture monitor. The color is a bit faded but it's still good.

I had a Sony transistor radio like this. The clock was an alarm clock that would turn the radio on. And it had an earphone jack. Very cool.

I had a bunch of MiniDisc stuff back in the day. And I swore by Trinitron monitors when I had the money for them.

I am an OLD Sony Fangirl. I still have my TV I got in 1994 which works fine. The one I got in 1988 finally died. I am not sure I would buy a TV from Sony today.

I've been mostly buying Sony electronics for the last couple of decades. The main problem has been the rapid pace of technological changes has caused the obsolescence of components before they have worn out. I bought a huge tube TV right before the HD flat panels came out. Great picture, but no HDMI slots etc. so not much I could do with it years later when the HD revolution came along. I ended up giving it away to a friend. It weighed over 200 pounds. That was a pain in the ass to move.

Sony has too many proprietary parts.

Every time I have to pay through the nose for some accessory or spare part I just have to have I swear it's the last Sony I'll ever buy and yet here I am typing on a Sony laptop...

I used to be a Sony fan for years;
All my home entertainment gear was Sony;
And the monitor I am using right now was one of the last they made before getting out of the LCD business.
But over the last 10 years they have lost their way.

Never have been much of a fan. The old Trinitron stuff was nice in the day. Either way, anytime Sony is mentioned, I think of this. Freaking hilarious, but NSFW for language.

New Sony Products
