I lived and rode all over northern San Diego County before I moved to the Portland area. Sandy Eggo can't hold a candle to the Portland/Vancouver metro area for riding. This view is an easy ride from my house:
insane diego doesn't hold a candle to the portland/vancouver twofer. maybe a blowtorch. please keep posting incredible pics and taking on more californians.
While I can't wait to get out of California. I believe Irvine (in Orange County) is probably one of the best cities in the world for cycling. There are miles and miles of MUPS, bicycle friendly streets that cater to cyclists and commuters, its a vacation destination for many people so the scenary is beautiful (especially if you pedal down to the beach...look up photos of Back Bay, Newport Beach, a cycling mecca). Everytime my friends and I ride, we are grateful for such a beautiful place to ride.
Another is Ft. Collins or Boulder, CO... hopefully where I may retire...
love all the irvine area connected mups that go places you actually wanna go. such a great example of urban bike planning done well.
