Quickly ... you've been given $10,000 and 1/2 hour to spend it all ...

... what's the one thing you would buy ... other than a bike?

Yes I'm drooling and resisting buying one of these ... Gold Crown V - Pool Tables

We used to play on Gold Crown III's back in Ontario in our Pool League and in tournaments. I've always had a reasonable excuse not to buy one ... didn't have adequate room to set up a table. Unfortunately I no longer have that excuse Someday I'll own one, probably a used one, but that's OK.

Bike parts don't count? B/C I have at least that much on my Amazon wishlist in bicycle stuff alone.

I could easily spend 5x that on acoustic guitars in the same 1/2 hour. Or electronics for that matter... synthesizers, audio boards, computers.

No, let's keep it bike related. I'd grab all the frame/alignment tools from Park, maybe buy a drill press, a nice TIG welding setup. Tools always seem to be a safe investment that don't just diminish and allow you to give back a little. I could easily spend $2k just on taps and die sets. High end flex-shaft and jeweler's station. High end soldering/de-soldering station. Maybe some electrical diagnostics tools like a wave-function generator and an oscilloscope.

I could also spend that much just to put a couple pallets of redbull in the corner of the garage. LOL

This is too easy: Supercharger, headers, cam and ported heads for my car.

15 years ago I would have said tools too. But at some point in my life I realized I have enough ... although a TIG welder would be nice.

Both. I normally donate to the local women's shelter, elementary schools for computer labs, music or sports equipment, SPCA, a Big Game protection agency in Africa and Educational charities in the Bahamas and Barbados.

I always thought that would be fun to half camper-ize and half bike support for MTB trips.

That would be a very poor investment. The dollar is expected to rally against the euro in 2015.

    Good question with two answers.

    1. It's like a Dremel tool on steroids: more reliable motor, flexible shaft and assorted tips for any possible work I can imagine. Foot control of speed. The ability to polish anything from a necklace to a derailleur. A nice comfy place for any sort of crafting. In a way, it's something I probably wanted my entire life, as I started building model cars and airplanes when I was about eight years old and I'm sure I would use it for that as well!

    2. Sentimental. I was married for a bit over six years, now divorced for over five years. My ex-wife had taken a bunch of classes in jewelry making when we lived in Seattle and putting together a nice station for her was an ongoing habit for many years. So, I suppose it would be partially in her honor and as a reminder of someone who was a major contributor to my life's story.

Great charities, btw, all things that I would consider backing!

Except I'd go for full camperization for full-time living. Currently overnighting in a Ford E350 with utility body, which is great, but mileage sucks and something newer and diesel would be nice.

Otherwise, 5 100oz bars of silver.
