Best alcohol drinks i've ever tried would have to be Jim Beam with Cola, Canadian Club with Cola, and Vodka. I hate Beer.

Beer or Cider.

I'm picky and not picky about beer. Of the mass domestics, I prefer Anheuser Busch's products, particularly their new Budweiser Select. Miller's products give me heinous gas, and I can't stand Coors. Of the mass microbrews: Shiner (only on tap) & Fat Tire. Imports: I'll drink pretty much almost any beer in a brown glass bottle, but I prefer Guinness. I also have been known to brew my own.

I can't stand Samuel Adams or Rolling Rock.

I know this may be incongruous, but I really like Tequiza.

As for Ciders, Hornsbys is the one I tend to buy most often.

Appleton Estates Jamaican Rum. Great straight up or with Welchs white grape/pear juice. Actually, with any fruit juice. Great after ride drink. Rum for the head, juice for the legs. Plus all the vitamin C keeps the hangover away.
Red Hook ESB or Widmere Hefeweizen (sp?) when it comes to beer

I have tasted Fuzzy navel wine coolers. They are pretty good. Everything else tastes horrible to me.

Dr. Pepper, however, RULES!

99% of the time I stick to water.

When the drinking bug bites though:

Liqour- Tequila, straight. Chase with Dos Equis.

Beer - Tuborg, Sam Adams, Bitburger, and if it's a cheap bar-crawl Bud Light.

When I'm thirsty? Filtered water or unsweetened iced tea are my fav's.

When I want to feel cultured and appreciate my palate? A nice California or Australian Shiraz served at 65degrees.

When I want to feel buzzed and cultured, Patron tequila straight up.

When I want to get drunk, drunk drunk, a bottle of MD 20/20 Hey it's only $2.50 and it will get a big man drunk.

I love this thread ...

My usual is a double shot of Jim Beam, neat, and a Guinness. I have too many friends who tell me how much better the Guinness is Over There, but to me, it's still better than most of the beers that pass my way.

When I do drink, which isn't often.....

Black Label Jim Beam

My father makes a "homemade peppermint schnapps" which is quite good. He starts with 190 proof Everclear, adds sugar and some water(not much) and real peppermint extract and does something with it which I can never remember. The thing about this brew is that to drink it, it must be served ice cold. He stores it in a deep freeze. If you drink it warm, it burns so badly that you'll never be able to drink it straight. I've never seen so many people who get hangovers with this stuff that seen to love so much.... But it also makes a wonderful hot peppermint pattie.

I'm all for Gennesee when i go home, at 2/$1 in most bars, you just can't go wrong. It's also about the only fizzy yellow beer i can get down. Most scotch ales are also pretty good, although i haven't played around enough to settle on a particular brand, be carefull though, alcohol content tends to be up near 10%. As for a little more high brow... I'll usually stick to Macallan (scotch) with a splash of water or i have a rather spicy bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, and then for the special occassions i have a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, tasty, but way too spendy (hooray for gifts!).

I like the flavor of Spirits in general. Haven't met a drink I didn't like (yet?). That being said,

Sapphire & Tonic (dangerous, can drink these like water)
Redbreast Irish Whisky
Jameson's Irish Whisky
Monopolowa vodka (Polish potato variant, awesomely good if you can find it, also $12)
Young's Double Chocolate Stout
Newcastle Brown Ale
and many, many others

(edit: oh yeah page 3 0wn3d!)
