I really don't like a lot of the new films. I am more into character studies/developments that some find extremely boring (The Quiet Room, I'm Not Rappaport, Basquiat, etc...).

The LOTR series I think were phenominal. Not all fit into the 03-05 category, but I would say they are recent enough to permit.

Matchstick Men........this movie rules becuase the twist at the end totaly came out of nowhere, i didnt see it coming at all.

and i thought Garden State was pretty good.....but the sound track was better than the movie.
