About "Software glitches, and an upgrade" question.
Howdy;
Being still kinda new here was wondering about the glitches and such.
Have they been implemented yet?? If not when is the shoot for date??
Have been experiencing continuous screen freezes with the box that mentions
Shockwave problems only with this forum. Is this part of the problem
that y'all are fixin'??? I just ensured that my system is up to date with
the apps. and am running Win10 and the most recent Firefox.
Becomes very frustrating that I am continually required to shut-down
in order to even return to my Homepage.
Thanks,
hank

Shockwave? Do you mean the Adobe thing that is related to Flash?
Disable it! I would suspect that Flash (.swf) in an ad is causing an exploit.
Upgrading to Titanium Club status means you are AD-FREE and it's easy, not too expensive.
But do disable it or something and see what happens.
If you can tell us what you think is freezing the browser an admin can tell you if that is supposed to be there (likely not).
Bike Forums does exert a great amount of control over rogue advertisements and bad actors.

Rollfast, Howdy;
Sorry, the danged box flashes on and off rapidly enough that it’s difficult to read at times.
it’s not the Shockwave app it’s a SCRIPT ERROR in the code. I was able to copy this earlier
this morning.
Script: https://www.bikeforums.net/foru…ade-q...post18797730:0
If I disable Shockwave it also disables parts of the PDF reader as Adobe links a good portion
of their apps to each other.
hank
PS. Had this message this evening;

You realize that the link just gets me a 401 error (declined, website requires me to log in)?
By the way all links here are redirected (through an API on Vigilink) as well to help prevent problems to the website's server if there were to be an exploit.
If you do encounter a bad link, notify the poster (assuming they are being genuine) and the staff.
PS I'm not a staff member, I just need to take up my staff and walk...

To add to this thread without splitting the topic into bits, I tried to access a BF thread from my email notifications and was asked to enter my ID and password outside BF from IE, to beta.bikeforums.net?
I assume that some of the site is in testing mode but urge members to NOT DO THIS! You can go here and the find that post/thread to respond to ONSITE.
Besides that, I'm not sure if I'd be posted to the beta or live or both.
I'm sure that this is an unintended glitch but when the browser itself asks for a password to continue, it's something to avoid. I was already logged in here and so I'm typing here now.

PS Hank, I don't know anything about Shockwave and Adobe Reader being crosslinked. You should have the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version installed anyhow, it supersedes all previous versions and contains the latest security updates...the same for Shockwave.
Make certain that you download them directly from the adobe.com website and not a third party.

***RETIRED*** Do Not Contact
The beta link was sent out in error. It would not have worked without the login credentials anyway. Just ognore it; no more email alerts with the beta site will be forthcoming.
