Oh weird, it is gray in IE. Chrome and Firefox both have the yellow fade look to each post.

There's your problem, or whatever. 10/Chrome/Edge.

The deal is that everyone ignores 7. It's like, as supposed Luddites we become technological lepers. Simply not interested in Windows 10 or Chrome and I don't have a cellphone.

I'm going to die before I get a new OS. If we're going retro, can't we address this?

Is there anyone else experiencing typing lag in the forums from Windows 10? It has only started from the time of the upgrade.

Clear your cache and run an virus/malware check. You don't mention the browser, IE 11, Edge or OTHER? Not enough information to diagnose.

@Rollfast, I am not sure about my browser other than Chrome, I can check further once I figure out how.
Computer is a new build with Windows 10 being purchased about 6 weeks ago.
Also my pics are simply big thumbnails as lite in the post a bit back up the page, do not really want to go to a photo hosting site, will probably just stop using bike forums as I do not have any of these issues on any other forum, the rest are more device friendly than BF too.

I was afraid those things would occur. We spent so much time and effort to make this site a huge force, only to reduce it to a beat-up Chevy for some reason. My sympathies to you, it has been truly depressing.

@Rollfast, this site complimented our combined bike addictions so well, has been/and hopefully will be a great place to chat with guys from all over the world, that was made possible by the effort/work from the Admins, and long term members, and I hope my comments are not making anyone feel offended, or slighting anyone's amount of dedication or effort.

I've at least figured out that what ever is affecting my vB4 sites is probably external.

External as in connectivity between your computer and the site?

As in some Win 7/IE 11 computers I have do it, some don't and not on all vB4 sites. Inconclusive.

The whole page number thing. Listing pages that do not exist.

https://www.bikeforums.net/commuting/...l#post18960899

We are on page 579 but pages 580 and 581 are listed.

Also can we get the ability to click on thumbnails and make photos larger?

The phantom page problem is really old, it much be some basic flaw that's existed for years.

I would still settle for HAVING thumbnails. They do not appear in Windows 7/IE 11, I'm just not going to bother using 10 and I have no idea where the Linux/Firefox hard drive went to.

I've don't recall ever seeing this phantom page issue prior to this switch. Since the switch I've seen it multiple times.

And stop rambling about how you're not going to use other systems since your current system is (insert rationalization/generalization here). You're like one of those hoity toity vegans who needs to tell every one they're vegan...no one cares.

My guess is the longer threads have had a few posts deleted somewhere in the middle which has led to the post counts being off.

Perhaps there are multiple "counters" for determining pages, and the wrong one was selected.

If true, it should be pretty easy to simulate with a test thread.

I'll look into the photo option with tech, but I'm not seeing the superfluous pages on that thread anymore. Are they still appearing on your end?

I still see them. At the top of pg 579 I see post #14451 (#14472 is currently the last item on that page). If I click the 580 or 581 page links, I am returned to that spot.

@IBJoel This actually seems to be the exact situation. When you look at the Commuting Sub-forum main page it lists 14,509 replies, which when divided by 25 posts per page you get 580.24 pages or more appropriately 581 pages, which is the number listed in error. But in reality there are only 14,472 posts which equals 579 pages.

Ah, ah, ah! Not only have I been HERE three years longer than you, I have used this platform back into the late nineties or early 2000s when 1.x or 2.x was out, and a few other php boards since 1997.

Please have better manners?

And I've used Windows since 3.1 as well in the mid 1980s. I don't care for 10 and Firefox, even in a really old and slightly unsafe version, was better than Edge.

If you are really frustrated, just say so. It has been at least half a decade since we went from vB 3 to 4, and THAT was probably harder than this initially.

I'm nowhere near preferring Chevy Vegas for a meal. Cheese and hamburger are your friends.

Now let's go back to solving problems.

To bring you to speed...

The missing pages error has existed for several years and has manifested itself in versions as far back as 3.8.x to my memory, because I've been on several forums sites using vB with the problem.

It's a database issue, one that the staff have to fix, and it can be fixed, it's sporadic too.

By this, do you mean that when you have posts "checked" (see picture) and you perform a basic search, you get the results oldest first?

I take mentions and page quotes with a grain of salt, but I was noticing that the numbers listed on the profile (next to the post) seem to be much lower than I would otherwise expect.
