Just curious about the "Our".

Are you a mod, or in another way affiliated with the forum and/or the corporate owner, and posting in some sort of official capacity? If so, it would be nice if that were clear. If not, some clarity there might also be nice.

Of course I don't have any standing to ask, and as I said I'm just curious. So responding either way is strictly voluntary.

No. I don't see how it's any different than it is now, except with better pictures.

But the max image size can be changed by forum administration if the powers that be think it's good business.

Thanks for the clarity. I only asked because this wasn't the first time one of your posts had the tone of a moderator or other official capacity.

As far as bandwidth, I think we used to simply get thumbnails in the messages that could be easily expanded. I actually found that a bit annoying, but perhaps one could go with mid-sized photos (say 400x500 or so 0.2 MP), then allow opening the interesting ones to a larger resolution (2 MP?) And, if one returns to the same thread, one might not always open the large photos, but simply use the preview photos.

One could even give unregistered users the thumbnails, while regular users get the mid-sized images or full-sized images.
Agreed. You could marry this to premium memberships for sure, but upping the limit to 200k would be a nice start even before any new (non-trivial dev work involved, I am sure) features of the membership are released. I would upgrade for that.

There must be some threshold at Photobucket. Maybe how much storage you have used there? I use very little space

This is a PBucket pic

They seem to be removing linked photos to third party sites in batches. My PB photos stayed online at BF for a week or so after many other's had been removed. Just a couple days ago my photos went dark at BF. I've used only 15% of my storage at PB.

Imgur.com works fine now for general free image hosting (I use it myself for noncritical things), but there's nothing to stop them from pulling a photobucket in the future.

I would think that PB is going through accounts, not 3rd party sites. They have to do processing to break links

I agree, posting pics used to be better before the "upgrade." Being able to post medium sized photos through this website that are automatically resized would add to the quality of the experience. Limiting that feature to paid membership is not a bad idea either.
