Or become a supporting member. I don't think they still give red stars, but you certainly lose the ads

Clean browser cache and use Firefox with Ublock Origin. Had the same problem, worked for me.

I captured this yesterday.
It is a bit different in that it does not show a diversion to another domain name.
Clicking the close button shuts the popup, but every time you close one, another comes up a few seconds later.

I used to get this one on my Opera desk top browser and occasionally on my Safari ipod touch. It came disguised as my internet provider, Fairpoint Communications, inviting me to take a survey to win a prize. I'd have to close Bike Forums to make the ad go away. Since activating Opera ad blocker I haven't seen it again. It stopped on its own on the mobile device.

Not sure where the fault lies

This is the pop up I mostly get, and only when checking BikeForums using my iPhone 6 running latest version of iOS 10.3.3. I don't seem to have this problem with my MacBook Pro which I'm using now to access the site.

Another annoying characteristic of this is that these pop ups seem to take advantage of a "feature" of 10.3.3 that doesn't allow you to clear all cookies or data. The cookies for this pop up site shows a size of 0 bytes when checked in the advanced tab of safari settings. Clear all cookies and history doesn't wipe them out, and even individually selecting for deletion in the advanced/web data screen, which seems effective with the site name being removed, proves fruitless as the site respawns as soon as you close the the screen.

So i think there are two issues: one is trash ads piggybacking on this site and the second is the iOS inability to clear the cookies.

I never get them on MacOS, nor do I get them with the iPad (10.3.3).
They seem to be targeted only at the iPhone.

I even manipulated the HTTP_USER_AGENT variable on MacOS, to spoof it as an iPhone, so I could capture the traffic.
But that did not trigger it.

Today I was actually able to read several threads, so I thought the problem might have been gone, but then on the next one, it returned.

BTW I am thinking the domain shown in these bogus warnings is just a distraction.
Most of them have no IP addresses associated with them.
