Search Time Limit
Any chance we can lower the search time limit? Perhaps for red-stars? If I typo, etcetera, I have to sit and wait for 30 seconds.

I think this question was asked before. There isn't really any reason why certain groups have to have flood control for that long. But apparently no one else thinks it's important.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I can understand a 30 second post/search delay. It buys time if someone tries a denial of service attack by overflowing the buffers with a nanosecond search entry algorithm.

Yes, but ElJamoquio was asking about why red star members are restricted to 30 seconds. Moderators are just as liable to tactics involving denial of service attacks, and you are not restricted to 30 second flood control. And I don't think either of us are talking about nanosecond searches--more like 10 or 15 seconds.

The other side of the issue is that the more resources are dedicated to search function, the fewer there are for other forum operations like posting, slowing down the forums to a crawl more often.

Now you see, if someone had pointed that out before, I would have found that answer, and put up a link .
Thank you Tom.
