Searching
This has probably been posted before, but due to the setup on the search engine, I cannot find it. So here it goes.
I have two main problems with the search tool.
1. The required "wait 30 seconds between searches", to me, is just plain ridiculous and stupid. Of course, there may be something behind that (too many people searching, lag on the forums, ect.) that I don't know about. But having to wait for 30 seconds just to do another search is pointless to me. If someone could explain why that is, I would greatly appriciate it.
2. The "minimum search length." Whenever I try to search, I ALWAYS, without fail, get the error "could not search because (something about not having enough words in the search bar to)"
Both of these issues makes it very difficult to search the forums and I could find what I need much better if the search engine would work.
Edit: I'm sorry if i sound a bit harsh, but i am rather frustrated with the search.

The thirty second delay is apparently due to the fact that the more resources are dedicated to search function, the fewer there are for other forum operations like posting, slowing down the forums to a crawl more often.
The same goes for searching with only two letters.
Other more authoritative people may, and probably do, know more than I.
Sorry I can't help more...

East Hill is correct on both points. Search is a server hog and multiple searches at any given time can easily bring down the database server.
The minimum word length is also a server resource setting, if there is a certain 2 - 3 letter bike term that you are searching for, let me know and I'll add it to the safe word list. If I index all 2 - 3 letter words posted on this forum, the search index would grow to sizes too large to deal with.
