Setting time zone in control panel

    Hi all

I've set my profile to have a time zone of GMT+9:30. It however doesn't display the correct time. All the posts / current times are one hour later.

For example: it is now 11:30AM, it says it's 12:30PM.

Is this a problem for all users? My GMT+9:30 is definitely correct.

I can live with it but just in case it is affecting other users?

    Regards
    Adrian

Has this always been a problem? The server was just moved a few weeks ago, but i havent had any other reports. I believe this is due to daylight savings time where the server is located. It will show the right time the first week of November for about 6 months...

My time appears OK. IOW, it says "The time now is 11:22 PM and it is 11:22 PM.

However, the clock doesn't take into account Standard time vs Daylight savings time. For instance, I live in the Eastern time zone, which is "GMT - 5" in Winter, but "GMT - 4" in Summer. Yet, BikeForums doesn't seem to take that factor into consideration.

The fact the time appears to be OK means that the server's time information is skewed somewhat: when it:s 11:22 PM EDT here, it's really 3:22 AM GMT, and not 4:22 GMT.

    For more information, see:

    or
    http://www.GreenwichMeanTime.info

I would say that there probably isn't any real problem for most people in North America, as I suspect the proper time will follow when we revert to Standard time. However, people in Saskatchewan and in the few U.S. states that don't use daylight savings time will probably have to readjust their bike forums profile at some point. And people in the Southern hemisphere might have a strange situation if they use Daylight time between October and April (if that's the case).

*nod* In v3 of the software (soon!) the site will check your local computer time for the settings. DST wont be a problem.

It's always been a problem just didn't mention it before.

I don't mind - I know what time it is

This is why, BTW, if you look at the Windows "Date and Time" control panel, you will see multiple settings for some of the time zones.
