Problems? Issues with the upgrade?
Please let me know if you have any problems with the new software. If you have any requests for design / layout changes, please let me know. I will be updating the style for the next week or so.
Thanks!
Thanks!

It looks good. I'm glad you are back up and running. I thought I would have to go cold turkey on bicycle topics for the winter.

Thanks Hunter, do you know what version of Netscape you are using?
I have tested the layout in IE 5.5 and 6.0 as well as the latest versions of Opera and Mozilla.

Grendel, good tip on the hosts file. I believe the problem is with Hunter's obsolete version of Netscape.

One thing I liked very much on other bicycle forums was the fact that you could bring up the latest posts regardless of catagory..will you be having that or did i just miss It?

Click on the "Get New" button under the logo.
I will be changing the logo / header to the old style. The current style is a purchased template. I just didnt feel like coding 182 templates tonight

Joe, I am not getting the Google ads ( I used them when interested) and when I went in to put on an avatar the images were not able to be displayed. Other than that looks good. Now the question is do you go to sleep or for a ride?

George, I have not yet put the ads up, I will soon. I have a few dozen templates that need to be changed to get the look I want. You will also need to upload a custom avatar. I have lost the stan dard avatars. But will try to restore them in the near future.
I think i'll go on a quick bike ride, I hate sleeping in the day time...

Joe, new forum looks good. I have one recommendation: I thought the “Mark All Forums Read” option located on the “Search Results” page (Get New option) was a great feature. Currently, it appears we must return to the "Home" page to use this option.

Joe, what is this “reputation” thing is all about? Is it suppose to turn colors, numbers or what?

Any chance of gett ing the "start date" of the thread listed in the column with the name of the thread starter?
I would appreciate this, as sometimes you have to do a bit of searching to see if this is a revival of an old thread that has already died at least once.

Issues with the upgrade ?
Thanks for the work and thanks for the update.
I use Internet Explorer 5.5 on Windows 98. I have one "functional" problem and a few cosmetic ones.
Functional Problem
When I opened the "Bikeforums.net" page, I was welcomed as a guest and had no option to log in -- only the option to register. It's only when I wanted to post a reply that I could log in.
I liked the idea of being able to log in at the start, so I could use my own preferences (# of posts per page, time zone for example)
Cosmetic problem
There was a slight problem with the previous interface, but it is more accute with this one: many backgrounds are too dark for many screens. For instance, when I write this message, the background is such that I have a hard time to read my text here; I can only read it on my laptop screen which is generally too white for good-looking photos.
The worst offender is the dark blue bar into which the subject is written: impossible to read until I select the content.
Regards,

What are the guidelines for images in signatures? I can't seem to make it work.
There's a slight problem when editing a post for the 2nd or 3rd time where earlier edits don't seem to stick. I'll try clearing my cookies to see if that helps.

I miss the 'user location' in the user profile that is shown to the left of the post. It's nice to know where people are responding from.
