Thread list far too short
The number of threads has become so short that it is having a very bad impact on the tone and usefulness of Bike Forums.
Previously, threads became conversations with multiple participants and stayed relevant for longer and gave more people a chance to contribute, sometimes after it seemed nothing more interesting can be said. Now, a thread is a few initial participants exchanging brief initial views and then ending as it falls from the first page.
This makes Bike Forums less of a community and more of a notice board. Ultimately it makes people less likely to stick around.

I've mentioned in one or more of the various threads about the new UI that the long term health of BF will suffer if the usability and accessibility issues are not addressed. But wtf do I know, I only have 15 years of web specific, usability, IT and management experience. I'm sure the techies at IB know better than anyone what their business needs are...that's why they rolled out this monstrosity with little or no user testing or input and decided to just use us as beta testers....the Microsloth model.

Thread list length is something that is on Tom's list of primary issues that he has sent to IB. Hopefully we will get some resolution on this and many of the other issues in the near future.

Good that it is high priority. I don't think any amount of testing would have made it obvious the list was too short. It is only after it went live that it was obvious that some sub-forums were moving too quickly for the list length.
