what happened to the thread previews and go to last post?

what happened to the thread previews and go to last post?
used to be you could hover your mouse over the thread title and get a preview box of the OP content, that's gone now.
so is the 'go to last post' button
and boy does navigation around the site suck now, what happened to that? No forum jump, no return to subforum, just back to main menu

why is the text in the 'reply' and 'edit' boxes so small? can it be made a bit bigger, sort of like the normal text size?

that's not what I'm looking for; I want to be able to go to the last post in any thread within any subforum, and that functionality has been lost in the transition
