marked as read unintentionally

I found that all forum listings are marked as read occasionally.
So it is a little bit annoying because I can't track down which thread I read or not.
Is this normal behavior or a bug?

There's a timeout since your last activity on the site, after which the entire site is marked as read. It's about 10 minutes.

I too think that's annoyingly short; it will time out as I'm composing or researching that answer to a question. Hopefully will be lengthened at some point.

Figured there was something like that. I was getting timed out when composing a post, and had to log back in again. I've gotten the habit of copying the entire composition into the clipboard before hitting submit, just in case.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

It's on the list of things to do after we get all the fires out. Just letting y'all know.

Thanks a lot for taking care of this issue!

BTW, it is much easier to keep it unread as default. All you need to do is keep a cookie for each read thread with (thread id, time).
And plus you need a global cookie (forum id, time) so that anything past this time is marked read.
I think expiration time is set because the default is read, and unread status is checked by the server DB, and gives more load to the server without the short expiration time.
