Clydesdale Forum
I know that a lot of "big boy" questions are asked and answered in the existing forums.
But, I feel that there are times that a 135# young athletic type can't not have the right prospective to answer some of the questions that are asked.
Also, there are times when questions will not be asked simply because it is hard to ask them to the general public. But maybe they would be asked in a Clydesdale forum (birds of a feather, etc.).
The forum would be used for clothing issues, bike sizings, unasked questions concerning the ability of a bike to stand up under bigboy loads, and a lot of mutual encouragement.
A clydesdale forum would be of little interest to the thin, racer set, but would to the newbie, tourer and especially people wanting to get back in to cycling.

I would not mind seeing and participating in a clydesdale forum. It seems that most of the members here are of the "racer" type physique. Even if it was a sub forum of say General Cycling I think that it would generate interest and support.
How about it Joe?

It is a good basic training video for someone starting out on videos. You get to see the folks mentioned in the web page above.
My take on "specialized" forums is that they are very seldom posted to. I.e., the Rec Forum we started a couple of years ago has little action, and no one seems to read your posts, so you end up posting things in "General Cycling" to get a broader reaction.

I'd be interested. However I hope to drop below the threshold within a couple of months, then I would have to bow out!

But, I've always been big boned... I might get down to 210 but I'll need more riding time...

If we set up a Clydesdale Sub-Forum then we are going to need a Rhino Sub-Sub-Forum, for those of us closer to 250 lbs.
Bikedud, the last time I was 180 lbs I was still in High School.
180 lbs to me is TINY!!!!!
No offense, I'm just envious!
At my ultimate fitness level, I'd still be about 210 to 215 lbs. Any less than that and you'd better take me to the ER, because I'm dying!

Slip some ex-lax in their water bottles, that will slowem down..p.s. but get ahead of them fast!!!!

I think clydesdale is a state-of-mind. What about the guy who's 5'6" 180lbs and some chub tries to race against the guy who's 6'4" and 202lbs with body fat that would make Alley McBeil jealous.
It probably doesn't matter. If someone thinks they're a clydesdale they're going to post anyway.
I, personally, don't like the laws of physics that say no matter how fit I am, I'm never going to fly up the climbs like my 155lbs riding buddy. How's that saying go? "Laws were meant to be broken". I'll try thinking that the next time we're going up a 7.5% grade for a mile.
