Touring Alerts Sub Forum?

I just had a couple of touring cyclists stay with me over the weekend. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. They were headed to Niagara Falls so I thought PA Bicycle Route A would a a good start for them.

I took a look at the PA route and did not like the start of from Pittsburgh on Route A, due to a very busy road. I consulted Google Maps and they recommended a small detour. It did not detour around all of the busy section but a pretty good chunk. More importantly it avoided a HUGE climb (these people worry me they were having a hard enough time with the hills around here and they are ultimately headed to Seattle ).

Anyway that little detour made me think. It would be nice to have a regional sub forum under touring. Various alerts and suggestions could be posted by region.

What do others think?
