Wheelbuilding sub-forum under Bicycle Mechanics

There seems to be plenty of wheelbuilding threads here to justify its own subforum. Because the term "wheelbuilding" isn't searchable (just generates a "The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:" error) it is difficult to find specific wheelbuilding info. Any thoughts about creating this new subforum to allow searches just on wheelbuilding topics?

Awesome. Thanks for considering it. Any idea what the normal turnaround on something like this is?

Anybody ever have a chance to look into this and run it by the decision makers? Still seems HIGHLY useful.

X2

There are threads about this in several other forums, and as mentioned above, it isn't easily searchable.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I'm considering it. It would be an embedded subforum, if we do it, by the way. I just want to consider the effect of "Overspecialization" fragmenting the forums too much. You can have too many subforums, after all, to the point it gets hard to navigate and damages the forums as a macro organization.

Add me to the list of individuals who believe such a forum would add value to the site.

While just a new member of bikeforums, I too think a dedicated wheel building sub-forum would be popular. You can't search for "wheelbuilding" by itself, and "wheel building" turns up lots of unrelated threads.

(however, I also think there should be a dedicated "what's the best chain lube" forum...

Listen hear Newb. With only 4 posts you haven't been around these parts long enough to be attempting such humour.
