What is DB-Tech Live Feed?

I was just in my settings turning off the tagging and notification emails (just what I need, more emails clogging up my Inbox!!), and noticed this DB-Tech Live Feed.

I clicked on it and there are two sections with almost identical settings - one is for Display and one is for Privacy.



Can someone provide me with a detailed explanation/definition of what all those things are?

And while you're at it, can you also provide me with a detailed explanation/definition of what the various settings are under the tagging and quoting notification section?


All these new features need a Help Manual provided with them so that we can turn them off!

Not an expert, and I'm sure Tom will come along before long, but I'll give it a shot.

1. The DB Live Feed is basically the new 'Spy' feature. The settings are sort of like the custom share/filter settings on Facebook and Google+ (the only two social network sites I have dealt with ). I believe the 'Display' settings affect how much you see while viewing and 'Privacy' affects how much you share.... might be wrong, though.

2. Tom has already put up a sticky about the hash tagging- basically just go to your CP and click every last box. That pretty much will eliminate all of the notifications.

3. Changing the settings for these features supposedly won't impact your normal use of the Forums

I've gone in and disabled the email notifications (the last 4 choices in the list), but I'm not sure what the alerts are, and the ones that say "Enable ____ Restriction" are really confusing. What does that mean ... I'm enabling a restriction of some sort. What sort of restriction?


I don't have much experience with social networking sites. I haven't used Google for that purpose. I've never twittered. I've never even texted anyone. So the language is all new to me.
